Sigurd started life in 2008 as a Sahara JKU. He entered my life in 2019 still stock—but that would not last long. After a year, a Teraflex 2.5" lift and 4.56 gears were installed, along with 35" KO2s on Method wheels. I decided that the official color scheme was going to be black with International Red accents (I know, so very original) when I picked up a set of LOD bumpers—mid-width in front and full-width in back. In red, of course. I also added new, smaller fender flares at that time to allow for more flex, and while they did that… well, they look like crap (they will be going away soon. I have the new flares sitting in my garage. Been there for a year now……).

Most recently, after issues with the gas skid plate mucking up my front driveshaft, it was decided that since it needed to be replaced, we might as well go all in. So we put on ¼" aluminum plating covering the entire undercarriage and a set of Poison Spyder rock rails (thank John G!). I’ve also done minor tweaks here and there, including adding a button panel for various things and a Pumpkin radio to replace the seven-segment POS that was in there.

In August 2024, at a WFTW outing, I ended up breaking a front axle shaft (life lesson… don’t floor it while cresting the top of a hill, otherwise you’re going to catch air and break shit. Oh—and pay attention to your axles, or you may drive on a slightly taco’d axle for over a year after being stupid on a muddy, narrow, steep climb with a tight turn -_-). So it was time to upgrade. I got an amazing deal on a set of tons (Dana 60 SD up front, Corporate 14 in back), so those went in along with all the steering/suspension/braking/oh-my-god-make-it-stop parts that are required. I would list everything, but I’m feeling lazy right now. There are front and rear air lockers, 4.88 gears, and a 4.5" long-arm (mid-arm technically? I guess? It’s weird) lift on 37s with Mickey Thompson Baja Legend tires. Huge thanks to Paul for doing all that work - he’s amazing, even if Sigurd now acts like a fully trussed-up diva (Sigurd acts like a diva, not Paul).
