Hi everyone! We are Paul and Beckie. Our passion for off-roading, hitting the trails, and testing our mechanical limits is what brought us to the Fox River Jeep Club. We love hanging out with this great community, participating in Wheelers for the Wounded (WFTW) events, and helping out on the trail—whether we are out on the rocks or turning wrenches in the garage. Our pride and joy is "The Mistress," a rig that is the result of countless hours of hard work and non-stop evolution.
The Rig: "The Mistress"
The Mistress started life with us as a 2005 Jeep LJ Rubicon with a small lift and 33-inch tires. Paul had been wanting an LJ for a long time. After resolving the issues she came with from the previous owner, we started to modify her into what she currently is.
Specs Now:
Vehicle: 2005 Jeep LJ Rubicon
Suspension: Custom control arms and 3.5" spring lift
Tummy Tuck: Done with an aluminum skid plate. This involved moving the engine, transmission, and transfer case up to gain a smooth underside while keeping a low center of gravity.
Body & Fuel: Aluminum fuel tank skid plate (moved the tank up 1.25") and a 1.25" body lift to accommodate the tummy tuck.
Drivetrain: Adams driveshafts, 4.88 gears, stock front locker, and a Detroit rear locker.
Axles: Dana 44s, RCV front axle shafts and Revolution Gear chromoly rear axle shafts.
Tires & Wheels: Custom-cut 35" Super Swamper Boggers on steel wheels.
She is constantly evolving, whether we are modifying her for more off-road capability or just upgrading the parts we break. We still love to daily drive her, even as she becomes more off-road than on-road. Our favorite destination park so far is Coalmont OHV Park in Tracy City, Tennessee, because of its great trail system and beautiful scenery.
